Advances in Pediatric ORL contains short articles in the form of extended abstracts taken from the Proceedings of the 8th International Congress of Paediatric Otorhinolaryngology, which took place in Oxford in September 2002.
These proceedings are published on a CD-ROM and include up-to-date coverage of many important developments in the field of paediatric otorhinolaryngology. Topics related to the ear include articles on ONE, management of microtia, the genetics of hearing, the development of language, management of the deaf child and mastoid disease. Nose related topics include rhinitis, Waldeyers ring, choanal atresia, obstructive sleep apnoea and rhinosinusitis. The larynx is covered by a detailed session on management of airway problems and reconstructive surgery of the airway. Articles on CJD, HIV and AIDS, and the multidisciplinary management of children with cranio-facial syndromes are also presented.
