The purpose of this book is to provide practical approaches to designing public reports that make health care performance information clear, meaningful, and usable by consumers. This book includes three reports which focus on the presentation of comparative health care performance data; the background information contained in public reports that frames the decision question, provides a context for using the information, and details the specifics of the data; and the promotion and dissemination of reports.
