Description
Over the past decade there have been major advances in the management of patients with craniofacial trauma. These have been fuelled by new concepts and techniques arising from the elective repair of congenital craniofacial deformities, and also by the increase in survival after trauma, due to improved resuscitation techniques. More radical approaches to complex problems have been achieved by multidisciplinary teams, with close collaboration between the neurosurgeon, maxillofacialsurgeon, otorhinolaryngologist, opthalmic, plastic, and accident and emergency surgeon. This book is the first to provide an multidisciplinary approach to the management of cranio-facial trauma. Each section has been written by a specialist involved in cranio-facial trauma, from the point of view oftheir own particular discipline, and presents vital information on the practical management strategies.
