This book reviews the world literature on elapsed times in the management of early breast cancer, with a particular focus on an amazingly wide variety of Canadian studies assessing elapsed times. This book presents and discusses a new technique called the multi-interval, multi-resolution analytic framework, which examines the relationship among all care intervals in relation to predictors of longer relapse times along the care path. Most strikingly this technique shows that elapsed times in general have increased over the last five to ten years, probably related to legitimately increased indications for radiation, chemotherapy and biologic therapies
Introduction; Do longer elapsed times impact breast cancer outcomes?; What are the predictors of longer elapsed times in Canada?; A multi-interval/multi-resolution analytic framework; Conclusions; Index.
