There is a general lack of understanding of how these diverse abstract and general perspectives of the discipline of nursing can be used to guide nursing practice, quality improvement projects, and nursing research. The purpose of this unique resource is to present a much needed practical guide for the application of nursing conceptual models. While this text will provide information about the specifics of each conceptual model, the focus will be on using the model in practice, which is where there is the biggest gap in the literature, and in nursing knowledge.
