CD-ROM for Clinical Wisdom and Interventions in Critical Care

Based on the research presented in the authors groundbreaking work Clinical Wisdom and Interventions in Critical Care,this highly interactive computer program takes the user through a single case as it moves through the emergency department, OR, PACU, and ICU. The program will teach the user how to identify salient clinical problems through observation and reflection on the kinds of judgement and actions exhibited by expert acute and critical care nurses. Pauses in the action to allow the user to consult additional clinical information and record their own perceptions and insights. A printed Instructors Manual, written by Dr. Benner, will describe the program and show how it can be used in courses focused on clinical judgement and also as a model for staff development activities for nurses in practice.
