Ovulation Induction

European Practice in Gynaecology and Obstetrics is a series of books published under the auspices of EBCOG. In each volume, the specialist will find a review of basic science, recent concepts in pathophysiology, clinical aspects, imaging, treatment and unresolved problems or controversies, and up-to-date references.

This book aims to update residents in practice in obstetrics and gynaecology, fellows in reproductive medicine, as well as practicing gynaecologists and endocrinologists on the most recent developments in ovulation induction. Leading experts from many different European countries describe the indications for ovulation induction and ovarian stimulation; the available protocols using not only conventional, but also the newest pharmaceutical agents, such as recombinant gonadotrophins and GnHR antagonists. They also review the potential risks (ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, multiple pregnancy and cancer) associated with these treatment modalities as well as the strategies to prevent them.
