AM::STARs is the official publication of the AAP Section on Adolescent Health. Published 2 times a year, it offers adolescent specialists and primary care physicians timely information on matters relating to adolescent health and wellness. This volume addresses special issues facing sexual and gender minority youth in areas such as primary care, behavioral health, substance abuse, medical management updates, surgical options, and changing health care laws. Additional information is provided on working with schools, teams, churches, and the community at large for the benefit of LGBTQ and youths in other vulnerable populations with whom they interact for a rounded wellness approach. Letters and stories from the patient perspective provide first-hand insight for empathetic care.
