The 5th edition of Swansons Family Practice Review is a case-base programmed text written for family practice doctor with the certification and recertification examinations in mind, but is also of value for all physicians desiring to update their knowledge concerning practical aspects of primary care. Nine sections cover specific sub-disciplines. Each section contains several chapters with topics presented via clinical case vignettes followed by a series of multiple choice questions with detailed answers. Many chapters also have a Clinical Case Management Problem requiring an essay type response, also responded to in detail. Each chapter ends with a succinct summary and a short list of references. The 10th section consists of a series of illustrations with questions, again followed by an answer section.
