Significant progress has been made in understanding the pathogenesis of many allergic disorders. In spite of the tremendous complexity, dramatic progress in the past few years has led to an improved understanding of the genetic contributions to allergic and immunoregulatory disorders. This issue is divided into four parts:: reviews of positional cloned genes from family studies, gene-environment interactions, gene-by-gene interactions, and future directions.
1. Update on ADAM33 (Holgate) 2. Two Genes -One Asthma, One IgE (Cookson) 3. New Gene-Paper Currently Under Review (Ober) 4. Pharmacogenomics of Asthma and Allergy (Weiss and Bleecker) 5. Early Life Envoronment x Gene Interaction (Martinez) 6. Genome by Genome Linkage (Meyers) 7. Evidence of Gene x Gene Interactions and Candidate Gene Association Studies (Kabasch) 8. Mouse vs. Man Genome Comparative Studies (Paigen) 9. Role of Phenotype-Finding Genes for Disease Severity (Postma)
