Burn surgery requires an infrastructure to ensure safe and accurate debridement of the necrotic burnt tissue. Blood products are a vital piece of the jigsaw, to ensure maintenance of a circulating volume and facilitate homeostasis. Is there such thing as a routine transfusion?
