A workgroup, led by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), have taken actions to validate environmental sampling methods for detecting Bacillus anthracis -- the bacteria that cause anthrax.
