In this issue of Hand Clinics, guest editors Drs. Jacques Henri Hacquebord and Omri Ayalon bring their considerable expertise to the topic of Bionic Reconstruction of the Upper Extremity. Thanks to recent, significant surgical advancements such as techniques for magnifying the signals from the peripheral nerves, bone anchoring systems, and the possibilities for sensory perception, bionic reconstruction of the upper limb is increasingly becoming a reality for patients with amputations at all levels.
