Primary liver cancer, mainly hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), is the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths world-wide. The incidence is increasing world-wide and the overall survival of patients with HCC is grim because most patients are diagnosed late, when curative treatment is not possible. This book presents topical research in the study of liver cancer, including plant polyphenols for the prevention of HCC and therapy of liver cancer; cytotoxic effects of reservatrol against liver cancer; the molecular mechanisms of HCC and the identification of prognostic markers and health-related quality of life for patients with liver cancer.
