Opis
AACN Advanced Critical Care Nursing is a comprehensive, nursing-focused textbook, addressing life-threatening and potentially life-threatening patient conditions. The books foundation is the critical thinking process:: the comprehension, analysis, synthesis, and application of knowledge. Each body system is included and discussed, with emphasis on advanced concepts. Physiology is presented in an application format, rather than in a presentation of basic information. Assessment is also presented and focuses on interpreting abnormal findings and linking those findings to diagnosis and intervention. An interdisciplinary, evidence-based approach is used to discuss appropriate interventions.

The book is organized within the structure of body systems, with additional synthesis chapters addressing patient conditions that include multiple body systems. The chapters are largely discursive in nature, featuring a number of appropriate illustrations, charts, and graphs. Additionally, case examples are used liberally throughout the text to encourage the application of the critical thinking process and give the reader an opportunity to practice applying the material. Appropriate references and bibliographies as well as links to other pertinent publications are included.
