This new 2nd edition presents 75 case studies of patients with a broad array of infectious conditions in a manner that challenges clinicians to identify the important aspects and reach a working diagnosis and plan for further evaluation or therapeutic care. A brief clinical vignette opens each study, usually accompanied by an illustration. The reader is then asked to formulate a plan for diagnosis and treatment. The next page reveals the diagnosis, discusses the case, distills three of four pearls from the presentation, and provides a few key references.
