In this issue of Clinics in Liver Disease, guest editor Dr. Robert S. Brown, Jr. brings his considerable expertise to the topic of Alcohol-Associated Liver Disease. Challenges encountered with ALD include delayed diagnosis, nutritional deficiencies, management of complications, mental health and stigma, and compliance issues. Research is ongoing to improve the health of these patients, including pharmacologic advances and microbiota transplantation.
