This exciting new issue explores the current trends, methods, and roles of neuroimaging in todays world. Techniques, such as functional MRI methods, diffusion tensor imaging, and brain imaging with PET focus on the most up-to-date information available. Current applications of these techniques are also discussed, such as autism and related disorders, alcohol and substance abuse, and stress/mood disorders. Every day brain imaging becomes more and more important in diagnosing and treating disorders which we previously knew little about. As techniques and innovations in this field grow this issue examines not only the technology involved but the role that imaging has taken in our society and everyday lives.
