With an ever-increasing population affected by allergy, incidents of allergies are rising at nearly 7 percent a year in the United States, this issue discusses identified allergens and the management options for them. Immunotherapy and pharmacology are presented along with allergen triggers, food reactions, conditions that mimic allergies, and special populations, such as treating allergies in the pregnant patient. With many patients self-medicating and trying home remedies, alternative and complementary therapies are also presented.
