Laparoscopic surgery, also called minimally invasive surgery, is a modern surgical technique in which operations in the abdomen are performed through small incisions as compared to the larger incisions needed in laparotomy. In this book, the authors present current research from across the globe in the study of the procedures, risks and new developments in laparoscopy. Topics include laparoscopic reconstructive adnexal surgery; surgical treatment of deep endometriosis by laparoscopy; robotic assisted surgery and the challenges of laparoscopic rectal cancer surgery.
